Premier Mist UK Ltd holds a full and validated fire test report to the published Bristish Standard 8489 for industrial and commercial water mist systems, having successfully undertaken all 3 fire tests contingent upon this standard.
The fire tests present a significant challenge to any fire system and to date there is limited fire test data that evidences the effectiveness of a conventional sprinkler system to BS 12845 to this series whilst test data prevails that other low and high pressure systems have not proven entirely efficient to these stringent tests.
The DualMIST system has demonstrated both efficiency and effectiveness at parameters that exceed the current spacing and water density requirements of a BS 12845 commercial sprinkler system. Both the DM3 and DM4-C nozzles have undertaken successfully the 8489 series of fire tests to 7m and 5m ceiling heights, with water coverage of 4mm via a closed bulb system and 2.5mm via an open nozzle arrangement at an enhanced ceiling height.
The testing and successful validation of the DualMIST system by BRE GLOBAL enables end users and/or fire consultants to specify a proven water mist system to commercial applications, including schools, offices and hotels.

Premier Mist is the first company to attain full fire test approval to the residential published water mist standard BS 8458 and the published BS DD 8489 for commercial water mist systems. In addition to the standard British standard protocol Premier Mist have surpassed the performance of conventional sprinklers at ceiling heights exceeding 5m and have successfully performance tested the DualMIST wall mounted nozzle (DM5) at an extended coverage of 25m2 whilst utilising a water density of only 2mm.
